8.6.1.030 Cargo cargo availability check Releases Road Gate

Cargo Availability Check for Release Cargo

You can configure the system to check cargo availability when gating in a truck. The cargo availability check is designed to prevent you from gating in more trucks than there is cargo available to fulfill a release request so that trucks do not leave empty or short-handed. An error is displayed if there is insufficient inventory to meet the criteria of the release request for the truck that you are gating in.

To turn on the cargo availability check, select the Check Cargo Option 1 item in the Road Gate Cargo Check Option combo box on the Gate sheet.

If you select the Check Cargo Option 1 item, the Cargo Availability Check button is displayed on the Release General Cargo screen, shown in the following diagram.

The Cargo Availability Check button is enabled after you select an operator and a cargo type (and, optionally, a cargo subtype) in the Release by Type section.

Click the Cargo Availability Check button to query the available cargo for the specified request by type. The available cargo is displayed on the Road Gate Cargo Availability Check screen, shown in the following diagram.

The details that are displayed are read-only. The cargo amounts are calculated as follows.

  • Amount On Site is the amount of on‑site cargo with the Import or Storage IMEX status that is not child cargo and is not yet assigned to any release that matches the criteria of the release request
  • Cargo Leaving Site is the amount of on‑site cargo already registered to be picked up by other on site trucks
  • Available Cargo is equal to Amount On SiteCargo Leaving Site

The following error is displayed if you try to release more cargo than is available.

This enhancement is available in release 8.6.1.030.
