The field is not directly editable. It is based on the values of Total Weight and Total Volume.
The rules of this field for any particular cargo is as follows:

Voyage operations now has the ability to display Freight Tonnes via the column organizer and in the summary bar to provide an instant view of the commercial value of the cargo on board a voyage as below.

Freight Tonnes are now available in the item selector queiries for cargo and containers.

The Freight Tonnes field is also available in jade report writer for cargo and containers.
