Master Terminal users can now send and receive the VGM of containers using the VERMAS EDI message type with the VERMAS license.
Message Structure
The information required to send a VERMAS message is:
- Booking Number
- Container Number
- Verified Weight
- Unit of Measurement
- Responsible Party
- Authorised Person
Update to Cargo Enquiry
There are now two new fields available on the Container Record to capture the Responsible Party and Authorised Person so that this information can be communicated to the Ship Operator when requested in the VERMAS message.
- ‘Weight Certified By’ will capture the Responsible Party, or Organisation responsible for providing the VGM.
- ‘Authorised Person for Certified Weight’ will capture the Name of the person who is responsible for providing the VGM.
Receiving a VERMAS Message
From the EDI Operations screen, you can now search for the Verified Gross Mass item in the Data Type combo box. VERMAS files that your terminal has processed are then listed in the search results table.
Sending a VERMAS Message
To send a VERMAS message when a container is weighed or when a container’s total weight is edited and certified, set up a CAMS Protocol.
Select the UN/EDIFACT VERMAS item in the Protocol combo box on the Details sheet
Add the Weighed and Edited transactions to the list of Selected Transactions on the Transactions sheet.
Add the Edited criteria on the Edit Settings sheet so that if the weight is edited without a weigh transaction being created, the CAMS Protocol will pick up the container in the VERMAS message.
This development is available in 8.4.2.070 (May 2016) and is a licensed component of Master Terminal.
