Reefer Monitoring in Master Terminal is now further configurable so reefers can be set as externally monitored. This means any temperature readings for reefers that are externally monitored can be automatically voided for invoicing purposes. Furthermore, you can now determine how monitoring is on-charged if a container’s monitoring status is changed while at a terminal.
There are a number of new functions available to manage this new requirement.
Update Cargo through Cargo Enquiry
Reefers now have a new property called “Is Externally Monitored” on the Reefer tab in the Cargo Enquiry screen. This new field is used to determine if a reefer is externally monitored by the Operator.
When this box is ticked, charges will no longer be generated for any temperature readings for this container. If a temperature reading is taken by accident for an externally monitored container, the transaction will not be charged for.
Option to Switch on Error
If you want an error to appear when a temperature reading is taken for a container that is set to being externally monitored, you can configure this from the Terminal Configuration screen on the Settings tab.
Alternating between Monitored and Externally Monitored
If for any reason a container is changed from monitored to externally monitored, or from externally monitored to monitored, you can configure how you want Master Terminal to manage this change.
Within the Terminal Configuration screen on the Financial tab, there are two new configurations options added “Auto Void Externally Monitored Reefer Invoice Lines” and “Auto Normal Internally Monitored Reefer Invoice Lines”.
By ticking “Auto Void Externally Monitored Reefer Invoice Lines”, any invoice lines recorded against a reefer for temperature readings will be automatically voided when setting the “Is Externally Monitored” against the container in the Cargo Enquiry screen.
By setting the “Auto Normal Internally Monitored Reefer Invoice Lines”, any invoice lines recorded against a reefer for temperature readings will be automatically on charged when deselecting the “Is Externally Monitored” tick box for the container.
Reefer Monitoring Screen
The Reefer Monitoring screen has a new search criteria for externally monitored reefers and has the ‘Is Externally Monitored’ field available in the thumbnail view and column organiser.
The new “Is Externally Monitored” field has been added to the Selector, Cargo Enquiry, Yard Allocation Manager, SQL Extract and Jade Report Writer.
This update will be available in 8.4.2.030 in December 2015.
